This House was built in 1705 by the Lamartine's great great grandfather, in the middle of a vast vineyard estate dating back to the 17th century. Lamartine spent a straightforward and happy family childhood here. He inherited in 1830 but in 1860, was obliged to sell this home, the inspiration for some of this most beautiful poem : "Milly ou la terre natale" and "La vigne et la maison". The house, which is still part of a vineyard estate, has belonged to the Sornay family since 1861.
